Dr Luisa Raiola
Principal Dentist
Luisa graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1989 and has practiced in the Heidelberg area since then, with the last 22 years here at Banksia Street.
Luisa has a caring and gentle approach, and together with her team, takes great satisfaction in converting the traditionally dental phobic into a happy, relaxed and confident patient!
Luisa has a strong commitment to continuing education and regularly attends national and international dental conferences to ensure that her patients are offered the most up to date treatment options.
Luisa has lived in the Heidelberg area for most of her life and attended St John’s Primary and OLMC – she is a familiar face in the community.
Dr Nick Xenos
Principal Dentist
Having graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1988, Nick has over 30 years’ experience in all facets of dental care.
From 1994 till 2012, Nick was a senior dentist in a large Melbourne CBD practice. In 2013 Nick took over the practice of Dr Lou Novak at Banksia Dental.
Nick has undertaken many continuing education courses and over the years , Nick has provided patients with comprehensive care, ranging from routine dentistry to complex care including implants, crowns, veneers and Invisalign.
Nick takes time to explain treatment options often utilising digital photography to educate patients on their oral health.
Dr Andrew Ciavarella
Assistant Dentist
Andrew attained his Doctor of Dental Surgery at The University of Melbourne and has recently joined Banksia Dental after working in numerous private clinics around Melbourne.
He takes great pride in educating his patients about their oral health and making their appointments comfortable and anxiety-free.
Andrew is a member of the Australian Dental Association and regularly updates his qualifications in all aspects of dentistry.
Andrew is a long-time local, attended St John’s Primary School and is a member of the St John’s Catholic Tennis Club. Outside dentistry you can find Andrew having a hit of tennis or jamming out on the piano!

You will be welcomed on arrival by our highly skilled and friendly reception staff who are able to attend to all your needs with the utmost professionalism.
Our chairside assistants work together with the dentists to provide streamlined, efficient dental care in a relaxed, caring and comfortable setting.
